Larimer County is seeking a hardworking and motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to become a key part of our Fleet team at the Larimer County Landfill!
This is an excellent position for a mechanic who enjoys working on a variety of fleets. You will Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair landfill vehicles, implements, and equipment.
Responsibilities
Specifically, this position:
Works in all weather conditions.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Services and diagnoses brake systems, transmissions, differentials, front, and rear axle assemblies.
Diagnoses and repairs charging and electrical systems.
Strictly adhere to established safety guidelines and protocols.

We Are Looking For a Candidate With
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to competently use diagnostic tools and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Welding abilities (Structural welding abilities not necessary).
Qualifications
All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Two (2) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities or certification in auto or diesel technology from an accredited program.
Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.
Possession of, and ability to maintain, a Class "B" CDL at the discretion of the Fleet Director, depending upon necessity and position, required.
