Laboratory Technician

Come join our exceptional Department of Neurobiology, and help lead the advancement of cutting-edge basic science research into explorations of the brain and central nervous system. With guidance, supervision and direction from the Principal Investigator, the Laboratory Technician will:

  • Design and make CRISPR/Cas9 DNA constructs
  • Electroporate chicken eggs with DNA expression constructs
  • Assist in the processing of tissue specimens taken from chicken embryos.
  • Assist in histology work which includes fixation, embedding, cryostat microtome sectioning and antibody staining.
  • Perform confocal microscopic analysis of stained tissue specimens, including use of an Airyscan
  • Enter data and perform administrative duties as assigned

Please note that this is a part-time 1-year limited position and may convert to career.

Salary range: $22.02-$25.90 Hourly
