Job Title: Laboratory Research Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Research Specialist to join our dynamic sequencing laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology techniques, particularly in qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, RT-PCR, and next-generation sequencing (NGS). The specialist will play a crucial role in executing experiments, troubleshooting protocols, and ensuring the smooth operation of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform qPCR, RT-PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) using established protocols.
• Prepare samples for sequencing and conduct quality control assessments to ensure accuracy and reliability of data.
• Troubleshoot and optimize protocols for improved efficiency and reliability of experimental outcomes.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning; perform routine maintenance and calibration as needed.
• Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately and in accordance with laboratory protocols.
• Collaborate with other team members and researchers to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and techniques in sequencing technologies and molecular biology.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with qPCR, RT-PCR, and DNA/RNA extraction techniques is required.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and bioinformatics tools related to sequencing data is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a research laboratory or clinical laboratory setting.
• Hands-on experience using next-generation sequencing (NGS).
• Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and practices.
• Prior experience in optimizing protocols and troubleshooting technical issues.
