Performs chemical and instrumental analysis on fuels, oils and other lubricants using standard testing methods as prescribed by ASTM and TIP's. Performs analysis on samples; prepares solutions for various tests; transfers samples from one area to another in the lab; maintains workbooks and equipment on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as per SOP's and TIP's and test procedures. Performs daily calculations; Plots graphs and charts as needed; must be able to follow written and verbal instruction. Performs other duties as assigned 40 hour works weeks are required. Must be willing to work days and evenings shifts. Some weekend work and adjusted work schedules may be required. Must maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Must have HS Diploma or equivalent including some college chemistry
Must be a self-starter with attention to detail
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must have computer and laboratory skills and basic hand tools knowledge
Must be able to operate laboratory equipment such as analytical balances, filtering apparatus and working with laboratory fume hoods
basic chemistry knowledge is helpful
Must have steel toe shoes
0-2 years of lab experience
Position is safety sensitive with random drug testing
MVR is required
Dress code: Business Casual
Monday- Friday 8 am -5 pm and some weekend work as needed
