Junior Payroll Analyst (Part-Time)

We are looking for a Junior Payroll Analyst to join our Finance team. This role will support our Senior Manager, Payroll and Equity in executing the day-to-day operations of payroll processing. This team member will also serve as the payroll liaison for our internal employees. This is an hourly, non-exempt, part-time role with overtime eligibility. Your schedule consists of about 40 hours every two weeks. One Talkspace payroll is biweekly and the other two are semi-monthly. This means that you will work longer hours on the payroll processing week (25-30 hrs) and less hours the non-processing payroll week (10-15 hrs).

  • This is a remote position. Talkspace Headquarters is located in NYC. However, schedule is flexible*

What You’ll Do

  • Run reports in the payroll and HRIS databases to compile the bi-weekly payroll playbook for US, Puerto Rico, and for our Full Time Therapist network for review and processing by the Sr. Manager of Payroll & Equity.
  • Audit data to identify discrepancies before, during and after payroll processing cycles and immediately bring them up to the Sr. Manager of Payroll & Equity to resolve.
  • Support off-cycle payroll runs and help document the payroll process end to end.
  • Provide day-to-day support and issue resolution related to payroll, timesheet and system inquiries for internal employees and people managers by using Zendesk.
  • Maintain electronic payroll files orderly, every pay period by entity, by pay date in real time, in order to be audit ready at any moment.
  • Ensure SOX compliance on all aspects of payroll including documentation, testing and audit support. You will be trained on SOX compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with our internal employees and people managers to maintain relationships and keep an ear to the ground to help identify needs and maintain trust.

About You

  • 1+ or- year of payroll experience
  • OR you have acquired FPC status (Fundamental Payroll Certification)
  • OR you are are student with a major in Accounting, Business or Finance, with 1 year of college work completed and a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google products, such as Gmail and Sheets
  • Outstanding attention to detail to analyze and draw conclusions from payroll data
  • Service oriented individual with great verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to act with discretion in managing confidential information

Compensation

At Talkspace, we believe that pay transparency during the interview process is a critical part of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our salary bands are based on internal and external compensation benchmarks, which we regularly evaluate to ensure we pay competitively.

The base salary range for this role is between $25 and $28 per hour. Within the salary bands, leveling corresponds to each candidate’s relevant experience, skills as assessed during the interview process, education, and applicable certifications.
