Summary
The Jr. Network Administrator’s primary responsibility is to proactively manage the daily hands-on operational security and health of the company’s technology infrastructure & electronically stored data with the goal of 100% uptime while simultaneously offering fantastic customer service. In addition to the duties outlined below, the Jr. Network Administrator’s responsibilities may overlap with both the Systems Administrator and the IT Director of Network & Infrastructure.
Essential Functions
Management of network infrastructure (servers, UPS, WAPs switches, routers)
Management of all data & virtual machine backups & data replication
Oversight for network security management (MFA & SSO,) Domain user account permissions, and Active Directory health
Managing a VMware virtualized environment with NetApp SANs
Ownership for testing & deployment for Server and Workstation patches and updates via MS WSUS
Responsible for backing up and managing MOI’s MS Office 365 tenant and licensing oversight for Exchange, SharePoint and related components.
Disaster & Recovery Planning & Testing
Responsible for configuring, programming, & securing Microsoft Teams Phone System
Application support for both physical & virtualized environments
Document best practices to expand the internal Knowledge Base of the Technical Resources Team
Assists the IT Director of Network & Infrastructure and IT Systems Administrator in the planning, design, procurement, evaluation, testing, and implementation of new enterprise-wide applications and systems.
Manages medium to large sized projects
Performs on going analysis of new technology and recommends future upgrades and enhancements
Provide Tier 3 end user helpdesk support
Provide support to the IT Services Team as needed
Other duties as assigned by IT Director of Network & Infrastructure
Expectations
Will work no less than 40 hours per week & is comfortable working remotely
Will occasionally work afterhours and on weekends remotely to perform network maintenance that cannot be performed during regular business hours
Available for oncall after hours support rotation
Have reliable transportation
Will visit the Washington DC office bi-weekly, Southern Offices as needed
Will respond to emergency support requests from employees outside of the “normal” 7:30am > 5:30pm M-F business hours
Be available to assist in response to emergencies and for planned network maintenance on weekends & holidays
Has access to a reliable high-speed internet connection at home

Education & Experience
College degree and 10-15 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions
General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. The role based primarily in Baltimore with occasional travel to Washington DC
