Position Summary: This is a coordinator/ merchandising position with a focus on helping to grow the sales in the national and regional optical chain distribution and support the retail chain store growth as needed. Elements of the role pertain to product merchandising, marketing presentations, training development, key account meeting preparation and follow up, and office administration duties. The Junior Merchandiser will report to the Merchandising Manager.


This role is located in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. All work takes place onsite.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Account Meeting Preparation

  • Coordinate all meeting needs with Sales Director, NYC team, and Muncy team
  • Work with the logistics and Muncy team to determine necessary recalls for each re-fresh
  • Merchandise sample trays for all brands (label samples, locate missing samples etc.)
  • Clean and label samples as needed
  • Pack, ship, and track samples sent to accounts
  • Prepare international shipping labels as needed
  • Create marketing booklets as required per meeting (make updates if needed)
  • Assist with line list creation as needed (primarily handled by Muncy team)
  • Support team in all areas of key account management (product team, marketing team, sales team, sales operations team)
  • Review monthly product selling reports to identify best sellers
  • Make sure showroom is prepared when meetings will take place in NYC
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for Key Accounts when coming to NYC
  • Create sample tray documents for virtual re-fresh meetings
  • Make sure all facets of the meeting are 100% prepared
  • Assist Sales Director in meetings/ market as needed

Key Account Meeting Follow Up

  • Type and distribute copious notes on all aspects of the customer meeting
  • Work with logistics to finalize ship dates for the account and recall plans
  • Coordinate the creation of all custom marketing materials (work with graphics team on design) for accounts
  • Execute all materials—work with printers, source new displays, develop window clings etc.
  • Create custom training materials for all key accounts as needed
  • Ship samples as needed to key accounts—follow up on the return as needed
  • Return samples not needed in NYC to Muncy (ie. Custom assortment for Key Accounts, Best Sellers etc.)
  • Support team in all areas of key account management (product team, marketing team, sales team, sales operations team)
  • Follow up with customers as needed with line lists, marketing needs, etc.

General Product Collection Maintenance

  • Pull out recalled samples from sample bags and process the return with Muncy
  • Make sure newest future frames are always added
  • Make sure prototypes are replaced with production quality as it arrives
  • Know where all samples are and coordinate samples from one meeting to the next

Daily Team Support

  • Manage all aspects of Frame tracing, patterns, and information submissions for Frames Data Catalog services
  • Order office supplies such as printer materials and water as needed
  • Send and distribute interoffice mail and packages to/from the Muncy office
  • Manage all photography tracking and uploading
  • Administrative tasks for marketing department
  • Assist marketing department with social media content creation and posting as needed

Attendance to Major Trade Shows (optical and non-optical)

  • Aid in set-up and take-down of major trade show in which Tura exhibits
  • Prepare the sales bags for each show

Retail Account Production

  • Track and follow up on the production of stock for retail accounts
  • Communicate with vendors overseas and update Excel tracker weekly
  • Communicate any issues to the Sales Director and Inventory Control team
  • Send samples to be photographed as needed


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • High energy level, positive attitude
  • Extremely meticulous and detail orientated
  • Embraces problem solving and new challenges
  • Extremely organized—can keep track of multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and stay focused
  • Hunger for knowledge and a desire to learn and grow
  • Actively demonstrates a strong interest in developing one’s career
  • Extremely hard working—willing to put in the extra time required to go above and beyond
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, sales, or merchandising
  • At least 1 previous work experience in an office environment (internship)
  • Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs. (shipping and receiving/ trade show set up)
  • Minimum of 1 previous internship required.


Base Salary: $50,000


Hours of Work: The hours of work are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The employee is expected to work in the office in order to effectively collaborate with the brand team.


FLSA Status: Exempt


The position is based at Tura US HQ.. 10 W 37th St. New York, NY 10018.
