Your new role, what's involved?


  • Demonstrate proficiency in the entire lighting design process, adept at conceptualizing and communicating design ideas verbally and visually. I adopt a holistic approach to lighting design, integrating it seamlessly into architectural concepts
  • Utilize tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, Dialux or Relux, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office, with familiarity in Revit and BIM. I produce comprehensive deliverables from concept to tender stages, including presentations, specifications, calculations, BOQ, and detailed drawings
  • .Manage projects independently, liaising effectively with architects, landscape architects, and interior designers within the team and across other WSP disciplines. I collaborate with technical and commercial teams as needed, ensuring seamless project execution
  • Oversee contractor implementations, applying technical expertise to resolve issues promptly. I conduct on-site reviews to support technical inspections and facilitate supplier workshops to explore new products and trends
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment, contributing to the growth and knowledge-sharing within the lighting design team at WSP. I maintain awareness of relevant industry standards and prioritize Health & Safety in alignment with company policies
  • The Lighting Design team plays a crucial role in enhancing user experiences through innovative architectural lighting solutions, reinforcing our commitment to delivering excellence in every project
  • Ensure designs are accurate, within budget, and executable
  • Successfully manage day-to-day project operations and swiftly resolve issues
  • Earn recognition as a trusted advisor in lighting design and regulatory matters among clients and peers at WSP
  • Interface with client representatives, design consultants, project management teams, and various engineering disciplines
  • Engage with external clients including developers, end users, and consultants, as well as internal stakeholders such as the lighting design team, local authorities, and lighting suppliers.


We'd love to hear from you if you have:


  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Industrial Design.
  • Master's degree in Architectural Lighting Design or a related field.
  • Fully qualified professional with 2 years of relevant lighting design consultancy experience.
  • Knowledge or coursework in lighting design principles and practices is advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for creativity and innovation in lighting design
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly, verbally, and visually.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely from the core team.
