Base Compensation: $60,000-$70,000 / year

WSE’s award-winning, original programming is led by some of the most popular athletes and personalities in sports media -- including the hit digital series’ “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce,” “Podcast P with Paul George,” “7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero” and “The Right Time with Bomani Jones” -- dishing out entertaining commentary, unique perspectives, expert analysis, and behind-the-scenes stories about the players and events that are shaping the world of sports. WSE also holds partnerships with 100+ rights holders and sports properties, providing always-on programming to followers of the internet's largest and most engaged social communities.

We are seeking a talented Junior Designer with a passion for branding to join our growing Design team. In this role, you will be vital in supporting the development and execution of cohesive brand experiences across various touchpoints for our full slate of Wave Original shows. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting brand identity projects with A-List talent while working in a collaborative and fast-paced creative environment. As a Junior Designer, you will learn from experienced designers and contribute to the visual storytelling of our brands.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical skill set and a strategic, brand-focused mindset. This means looking beyond individual assets, thinking holistically, and understanding that successful design is solution-oriented. You will think beyond face-value execution and design assets that align with each show’s unique content and voice.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director, Brand Identity, and senior designers on brand identity projects, including logo design, brand guidelines development, and visual assets creation
• Research target audiences, brand competitors, and current design trends to inform design decisions
• Develop creative concepts and design solutions that align with the brand strategy and messaging
• Utilize design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to create high-quality mockups, prototypes, and final design assets
• Assist with presentation creation to showcase design concepts and revisions to stakeholders
• Maintain a strong attention to detail and ensure consistency with brand guidelines across all design outputs
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and design best practices through research and professional development opportunities
• Effectively lead and communicate presentations and design work in cross-functional team meetings, providing insight and context for design choices
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 1-2 years of experience in a design agency or brand identity setting (preferred)
• Strong portfolio showcasing creativity, design thinking, and a keen eye for visual aesthetics
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
• A passion for branding and a strong understanding of how design can impact brand perception

• Experience with branding collateral development (e.g., packaging, marketing materials)
• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles
• Experience with motion graphics or animation (a plus)

• This role is a full-time position with a base salary range of $60,000-$70,000/year, and may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity. Actual salary at the time of offer may vary based on multiple factors, including an individual's experience level and qualifications. Physical Requirements + Work Environment

• Capacity to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery and hardware
• The ability to communicate and exchange information clearly and accurately.
• Work is sedentary and involves sitting for the majority of work hours
• Able to work full-time M-F and nights and weekends as needed
• The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and work is performed in a business office environment
• The worker may be exposed to variable lighting conditions (brightness or darkness) and noise during production when in the office
