Junior Copywriter

Aéropostale New York City Metropolitan Area

Aéropostale is seeking a Junior Copywriter to be a part of the Creative Marketing team in our NYC office. This role is responsible for brainstorming, creating, and transforming ideas into written content that engages customers and drives conversion with our brand, products and marketing communications across aeropostale.com, organic social platforms, email campaigns, and paid media and print channels. This role will be hybrid, with 3 days/week spent on site in NYC.


Responsibilities:

•Help to establish the Aéropostale voice in a relatable tone to our core customers.

•Develop and communicate the Aéropostale brand message through consistent and elevated product stories across a variety of categories.

•Edit and proofread all product stories, content, and on-line marketing materials. Use correct spelling, grammar, punctuation and structure throughout all materials created. Understand the marketing calendar and work with Marketing team to ensure deadlines are met and edits are executed for final approval.

•Write creative copy for email campaigns that will effectively drive click-through rates and sales.

•Collaborate with Ecommerce and Marketing team members to create effective and compelling content for the website.

•Develop concise and compelling copy to support Aéropostale Search Engine Marketing efforts.

•Write engaging copy that inspires and informs the customer across key touch points.

•Complete special projects upon request.


Qualifications

•1 year creative writing experience, some product stories experience required (ecommerce or catalog), preferably in apparel and/or luxury

•Content or online editorial copywriting experience

•Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field preferred

•Ability to work under deadline pressure with excellent attention to detail, as well as a holistic vision

•Ideas person and problem solver, with the flexibility to balance editorial and business needs

•Excellent writing skills, with the ability to write clearly, concisely and easily, as well as the ability to self-edit and sense-check text

•Strong attention to detail and be able to perform research with an eye for what's trending in the apparel.

•Culturally aware, with the insight and empathy to be inclusive on a global scale

•Online fluency (websites, blogs, etc.) with the curiosity and insight to ensure the brand stands out in the crowd

•Strong communication skills and ability to work with different types of people and departments

•Ability to multi-task, adapt and re-prioritize according to rapidly growing company needs

•Self-motivation and an entrepreneurial spirit, balanced with a team mentality

•Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)


Requirements & EEO Statement

The salary range for this position is $62,400 to $65,000 annually. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to position offered and work experience. In addition to your salary, SPARC Group, and its affiliated brands, offers a benefits package, including 401(k) plan, overtime pay, flexible work schedule and a generous employee discount program (all benefits are based on eligibility).
