Shoplifter Studios, an award winning, full service production and post production company located in Downtown Tampa is seeking a full-time Junior Animator to join our innovative team. The Junior Animator will be responsible for assisting with the development and execution of a variety of visually compelling and high quality animation and motion graphic projects from conception to completion. You have a passion for telling visually interesting stories that engage, excite and educate audiences; you will transform static moments into surprisingly delightful ones. 

This role will report directly to the Director of Post Production, and will work closely with the Animation team on a daily basis.

• RESPONSIBILITIES
• Utilize animation tools to assist in the development of animated sequences from created illustrations.
• Explore various available animation techniques to broaden skill sets and be able to deliver on projects with different requirements.
• Explore different artistic themes and visual styles to enhance projects.
• Work alongside lead animators to interpret scripts to understand requirements for animation assets.
• Ability to execute direction within brand guidelines while maintaining creativity.
• Conduct research for reference and new techniques when necessary to execute a project.
• Contribute creative ideas to the animation briefing discussions.
• Create blocking animation to determine motion sequence for each shot in the scene.
• Present created animation sequences to the animation team for review.
• Refine animation sequences based on creative inputs from the team.
• Must be able to problem solve, solve problems and most of all be a problem solver.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3 years of previous animation experience at an agency, studio, network or post production house.
• Must live in the Tampa Bay, FL area
• Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Strong knowledge of 2D animation, typographic design and type animation.
• Must exhibit strong understanding of fundamentals of animation. 
• A good eye for detail, silhouette and composition.
• Proficient with Windows, Mac and media management.
• Must possess an on-trend aesthetic, technical skill and knowledge of current media trends.
• Must possess a strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative and be proactive.
• Must be familiar with a fast-paced, deadline driven, creative environment. 
• Ability to keep a level head in times of elevated stress.
• Timely responsiveness to email and Google chat correspondence. 
• Promptly attends all meetings, both in-person and virtual. 
• Maintains active communication with all key team members, always acknowledging receipt of questions. 
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background.
