Junior Accountant

Job Summary:

The Junior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our client's non-profit organization. This position is responsible for assisting with daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for contributing to a meaningful cause.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Process invoices, expense reports, and reimbursements, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure financial stability.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support the annual budgeting process and assist with budget tracking and analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with the preparation of documents for audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial files and documentation.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
• Provide support for special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
