The JR. Network Administrator’s primary function is to work alongside the other Network team members to provide logistical support, respond to queries, document changes and assist with testing, diagnoses and resolution of network service outages and incident.
What you will do
Maintains the LAN/WAN infrastructure on a day-to-day basis
Document and report on network activities and operations
Create/Maintain network diagrams, inventories, runbooks and procedures as well as analyzing network reports and logs.
Communicate with the Senior member of the network team about network status, issues and solutions.
Network Maintenance: Updating, monitoring, and troubleshooting networks
Maintains LAN/WAN monitoring tools to ensure optimal system utilization and performance
Patch, update and perform backups of all network devices on a regular basis
Addresses end-user issues
Performs equipment installation and configuration as required by other network team members.
Work with the security team for vulnerabilities and daily scans/tasks related to the network.
Assists with the design, implementation, and monitoring of a flexible LAN/WAN communications infrastructure to support Mortgage Connect’s existing offices as well as the ongoing expansion of the organization
Provides internal analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded infrastructure performance
Assures all wiring closets are maintained and documented
Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds when setting up equipment.
24x7 availability and uptime of systems
All other duties as assigned
What you will bring
Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, , or equivalent work experience
2 + years’ experience in a networking environment
Network Certifications are a plus
Experience with Cisco switches/Routers.
Experience with Fortigate firewalls a plus.
System integration and Radius experience a plus
Knowledge of Windows and Linux environments
