Jr. Creative Designer

This position is for a talented Jr. Creative Designer with a desire to develop compelling creative for The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) brand and entire corporate organization. As the Jr. Creative Designer you will be an integral part of the Brand & Communications team within the broader Global Marketing & Communications team and support LHW’s numerous departments – marketing, sales, events, and membership.

This individual should be a multi-faceted creative production designer with expertise graphic design and visual storytelling, and possess a strong ability to collaborate well with colleagues across business functions and global teams. In this role you will help develop the brand’s creative direction and have the opportunity to tell the stories of our more than 400 hotels and our global brand across print and digital touchpoints for our numerous stakeholders - consumers, hoteliers, and B2B audiences.

This role is based in The Leading Hotels of the World’s New York City office, requires a hybrid in-office work schedule, and will report directly to LHW’s Creative Design Lead.

Who You Are

  • A multidisciplinary designer with 2 - 3 years of experience, comfortable working across various mediums including print, digital, and video
  • A visual storyteller with a keen eye for detail and strong design abilities
  • High taste level and standards, with knowledge of hospitality, art, fashion, and design
  • Experience in a design, consulting, or branding firm, preferably in the luxury space; hospitality experience is a plus
  • Proficient in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), video editing tools, and presentation tools like PowerPoint and Canva
  • A self-starter and team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional global teams
  • A multitasker with excellent time management skills who can excel in a fast-paced environment and stay on top of deadlines
  • A curious learner who stays updated on market and content trends and cultural insights
  • A clear and effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assist the Creative Design Lead:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish design direction and ensure consistency across all visual communications and branding efforts
    • Partner with lead stakeholders to build a comprehensive brand asset base
    • Support the Creative Design Lead and senior designers with larger projects and campaigns, providing production assistance as needed
    • Assist in the creative development of strategy presentations to ensure they represent the high standards of the company for a wide variety of audiences
    • Partner with internal creative/production agencies to execute work that is of the highest quality and consistency
    • Support management of Jira and agile workflow for Create Design Services
  • Production Work:
    • Focus on production work, ensuring all deliverables are on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards
    • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, including creating brand decks, style guides, case studies, and videos
    • Execute a wide variety of elevated collateral (digital media, video, print, paid and organic social content, and more)
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with marketing, product development/digital, and sales and membership teams to understand project requirements, goals, and constraints
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments to ensure cohesive and impactful design solutions
    • Leverage company data and analytics and translate them into clear visual storytelling opportunities for internal and external stakeholders
    • Maintain and adhere to the company’s brand guidelines across all creative outputs, ensuring consistency in brand tone, style, and visual identity
  • Design Development:
    • Develop engaging visuals for social media posts, online advertisements, website banners, and email marketing campaigns
    • Design print materials such as brochures, flyers, posters, travel guides, and banners ensuring they are attractive and informative
    • Design corporate templates and internal comms materials via PowerPoint and Word
    • Stay updated with design trends, tools, and technologies to keep the company’s creative output current and competitive
    • Research and gather inspiration to enhance the creativity and effectiveness of design projects
    • Utilize video editing software to enhance visual storytelling through dynamic video content
Skills And Abilities

  • Strong design and typography abilities in PowerPoint, InDesign, Adobe suite of products, Canva
  • Understanding of aesthetics, and an innate sense for what good looks like (in luxury)
  • Ability for project management in platforms such as Jira
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Expert prioritizing skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to self-manage, take initiative, and follow-up to drive results
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with colleagues and external partners
  • Ability to explain creative ideas to others with varying levels of expertise throughout the organization, utilizing the appropriate format for the audience
