Jr. Application Engineer (Aerospace/Power Transmission Manufacturing) Description
Our client manufactures products for the aerospace, robotics, & power transmission industries, and they are looking for a Jr. Application Engineer to join their team just east of Hartford, CT. In this role, you will act as a technical liaison for Customer Service and Sales, deciphering customer needs, proposing product solutions, and offering support such as drafting, updating technical drawings, material confirmations, and product training. The ideal candidate embodies strong communication, independence, attention to detail, and responsiveness to time-sensitive inquiries from customers. Whether a recent graduate or an experienced Applications Engineer, the successful candidate will possess initiative, aiming to become a subject matter expert on the company's products and technical applications. Jr. Application Engineer (Aerospace/Power Transmission Manufacturing) Responsibilities
Serve as a technical resource, identifying product solutions to address customer requirements
Create drawings, inspection reports, and user instructions
Offer drawing and drafting support in Inventor, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks
Confirm quote details, including material selections, specs, & part numbers
Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle
Develop and maintain expert level product and application knowledge
Articulate product positioning to both a technical & non-technical audience
Provide functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFQs
Travel to customer sites and attend trade shows as needed
Design and/or draw fixtures to aid in manufacturing and testing
Support the sales team by creating technical/analytical tools and presentations
Jr. Application Engineer (Aerospace/Power Transmission Manufacturing) Qualifications
1+ years of engineering experience related to manufacturing or sales support is required
3D & 2D CAD Design Experience Is Required
Ability to create & read mechanical drawings is required
Strong communication & customer facing skills are a must
Ability to work 100% in the office is required
Ability to travel to customer sites & trade shows is required (frequency noted above)
