To conduct an on-going campaign among private and public sector businesses within JMG communities to obtain job orders and develop employment contracts.
To work with students and employers in securing job placements for students upon graduation.
To administer testing programs: Pre/Post Tests, Career Area Interest Inventory/Checklist.
Employability Development Plan (ISS); and others as required for all students enrolled.
Assist students with social service agencies and getting tutors and special help as needed.
To motivate and prepare young people to reach their goal of obtaining and retaining quality jobs.
Collect data, conduct interviews and discuss potential students with advisory committee.
Hold monthly advisory committee meetings and report the minutes to the JMG central office on a monthly basis.
Identify participants who meet all JAG requirements.
Teach the 81 competencies within a specified time frame and encourage class attendance and maximum participation in all programs related activities.
Organize, implement and advise a Career Association Chapter for all students selected as follows: election of officers, installation and initiation of new members, training activities and monthly meetings.
Schedule and hold a local student competition using Career Association format provided by JMG.
Document all contacts and activities made with students, employers and other groups.
Organize and maintain a filing system for rapid retrieval of documents as per the JAG Data Management System.
Maintain a positive image within the education community and effectively fulfill all responsibilities assigned and complete special projects assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have training/experience in fields of social service, business and/or education. Skills in human
relations, leadership, supervision, helping and guiding others. Experience in working with young people.
Possess sales skills and adept in public relations techniques. Experience in job-related activities
AND
A Minimum of a B.S. Degree from a four-year college/university.
AND
A Teaching certificate in (preferably) Secondary Education; Elementary Education is acceptable.
