Job Description

Title: Jeweler

Reports to: Director, Shop Technical Development

Overview

This Jeweler must have experience and knowledge in high end and mainline product. Responsible for execution of designs as well as ensuring the functional and aesthetic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to create complex and intricate pieces with minimum supervision.
  • Provide input on technical aspect of design during project reviews, participate in brainstorming sessions during design review meetings. Provide input on production techniques and initial labor estimates.
  • Translate design concept into a physical piece within established project time frame
  • Collaborate with CAD designer/technician, setter, and polisher on all technical aspects of creation of the finished piece.
  • Physically construct new production models and initial prototype samples according to the project delivery timelines.
  • Capable of working on high jewelry/sold order product.
  • Provide guidance to fellow jewelers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of bench experience in high-end jewelry manufacturing shop.
  • Knowledge of complex and intricate jewelry construction as well as precious metal properties.
  • Ability to read and interpret design rendering/engineering documents
  • Ability to construct handmade elements, mechanical components, clasps, connections
  • Ability to communicate issues clearly in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of colored stone properties, setting techniques and styles.
  • Ability to work overtime as business need arises.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be highly motivated.

Location: New York, NY

Working Mode: Hybrid

Estimate Salary Range: $90,000-120,000

Base pay is one component of David Yurman’s total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
