Job Description
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW & POSITION SUMMARY:
The Office of Justice, Equity, and Transformation (JET) at MassArt guides and leads work that achieves systemic equity in all areas of the educational institution. The Program Coordinator assists the JET Office in implementing strategies and projects for JET's three priority areas: transformative learning and teaching; pathways to an arts and design education; and retention and mentoring. As a critical member of this team, the Program Coordinator facilitates actionable steps towards our mission through administrative support and serves as a vital liaison to campus wide partners.
REPORTS TO: Dean, Justice, Equity, and Transformation
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None
SALARY: $50,000 - $60,000 commensurate with experience
Position is governed by the Association of Professional Administrators (APA) collective bargaining agreement.

Essential Job Duties
PROGRAM AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Manage operations of the office including scheduling regular department meetings, departmental town halls, preparation of meeting and town hall agendas, and providing logistical support for various programs and events
- Assisting with project management, planning documentation and tracking initiatives
- Provide logistical support for pathway programs, initiatives, visiting artists, trainers, and consultants which may include recruitment, registration, and arranging travel and lodging accommodations
- Coordinate and register campus teams and individuals to participate in a variety of conferences and other development opportunities
- Assist with tracking expenses, preparing invoices, processing payments and reimbursements, and managing other financial transactions
- Prepare, edit, and distribute various program information, promotional materials, annual reports, and more
- Assist with the development and delivery of presentations, workshops, and information sessions for the MassArt community including student, faculty, and staff orientations, admissions events, student involvement fairs, and other forums
- Provide support for JET affiliated programs such as JET Student Leaders, JET Graduate Assistants, affinity groups, and other related programs
- Other duties as assigned
- Work collaboratively with a variety of areas across the college such as Academic Affairs and Student Development on projects, programs and events
- Provide planning, outreach, and education of campuswide programming and initiatives
- Increase the visibility of the JET Office, projects, programs and initiatives, and community engagement
- Support JET Liaison Program in creating bridges across departments to more fully develop equity focused practices.
- Advocate for and connect students to services and resources
- Assist in development of JET's internal newsletter (JET Pack), resources, announcements, and social media
- Aid in assessing office programs and initiatives through focus groups, surveys, and evaluations
- May be required to work before or after normal business hours, including weekends.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in higher education;
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience enacting principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) in programs, projects, or initiatives
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience supporting and managing budgets and financial transactions
- Education in art, design, social justice, community art development, or related field
- Ability to speak and write in more than one language
- Skilled at working with populations from historically marginalized and underrepresented groups experiencing social inequities
- Ability to both work independently and with a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a high paced environment while remaining flexible
- Knowledgeable about college environment and culture
- Strong administrative skills with an attention to detail
- Proficiency with a full range of computer office applications and functions including Google Workspace/Suite and Zoom
- Ability to engage work with authenticity, humor, and heart
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience advocating community-based programming or related fields
- Positive, constructive, and solution-oriented attitude
