Discover Impactful Work

Manages a team within information technology specific to Software Development across multiple locations. Delivers technology solutions in a collaborative cross-functional environment. Responsible for technical leadership, project planning, and management duties necessary to develop staff and deploy technical solutions meeting the needs of the business.

Essential Functions

  • Manages staff including work assignment, development of staff and performance
  • management.
  • Acts as a liaison between IT and business leadership.
  • Provides progress updates and aligns IT with business.
  • Assists IT and business leadership in understanding large technical projects and
  • solutions.
  • Assists in process improvement and develops procedures.
  • Assists in budgeting.

Policy & Strategy

  • Interprets and administers policies, processes, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate work units. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.

Freedom to Act

  • Assignments are defined in terms of activities and objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. A portion of the time may be spent performing individual tasks.

Liaison

  • Interacts frequently with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives. Interaction typically concerns resolution of operational and scheduling issues.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).
  • 1+ year of leadership responsibility


  • In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

    • Demonstrated leadership skills
    • Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
    • Must be able to multitask and pay close attention to detail
    • Excellent people management skills
    • Experience in a validated software environment
    • Experience in a central lab is a plus

    Management Role

    • Directs through lower management levels and / or highly skilled specialist employees who exercise significant latitude and independent judgment. Often heads one or more departments or a large centralized staff function. In some instances may be responsible for a functional area (as determined by Executive Management) and not have subordinate supervisors or employees. May manage employees across multiple regions.
