IT Infrastructure Manager

ASRC Federal System Solutions is seeking an IT Infrastructure Manager to lead ongoing operations on our Research Facilities and Engineering Support Services program located at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base, near Palmdale/Lancaster, CA.

This position will manage a team of approximately 20 IT Professionals to perform Data Center and System Administration Services, Simulation Systems Engineering and Administration support, Lab & Engineering System support, Physical Security support, and Mission IT support. Duties include monitoring, prioritizing, and controlling work and managing interrelationships between customers and contractors. Directly supports the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to coordinate IT Infrastructure tasks to ensure the quality and timeliness of services.

This role and Center also works a 9/80 schedule with typical hours of 7:30am-5:00pm with every other Friday off.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, direction, and team development for the IT Infrastructure Branch, comprised of approximately 20 employees across multiple IT disciplines.


• Partner with the IT Operations Manager to foster integration of the infrastructure and application teams.


• Monitor system resources and usage, providing recommendations for process and technical improvements.


• Establish objectives and assign responsibility / schedules to ensure the successful accomplishment of assigned tasks and projects.


• Manage interrelationships between customers and contractors, facilitating collaboration with customers and IT teams to understand requirements. Ensure successful delivery of IT services.


• Lead, recruit, and develop local and geographically dispersed team including mentorship, coaching, and career management.


• Tracks, documents, and evaluates functional performance against Department and Agency metrics and provides reports upon request.


• Assists the Office of the CIO with organizational budget and IT roadmap development.

 Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience; 10 years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.


• At least 3 years of increasingly responsible management experience in Information Technology, Information Management Systems, Telecommunication, Project Management, Computer Science, or related discipline.


• General knowledge of computer networking, server architecture, enterprise storage, desktop hardware, software configuration management and computer help desk functions.


• Able to build, grow, and maintain customer relationships.


• Able to communicate in a confident, articulate, and professional manner.


• Able to build collaborative relationships across groups and form a high performing team.


• Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Active Secret clearance is preferred. US Citizenship is required for Secret clearance at this location.

Desired Skills:

• Master's degree.


• Experience leading managers in addition to technical individual contributors.


• Proven experience managing teams spanning multiple IT functions and / or within a matrixed organization.
