Responsibilities
- Manage the entire incident management process, from identification to resolution and post-analysis.
- Prioritize and classify incidents according to their severity and impact on business operations.
- Coordinate with internal IT teams and external vendors to promptly resolve incidents.
- Keep stakeholders informed by providing regular updates on incident status and resolution progress.
- Deploy and maintain incident management tools and systems for process optimization.
- Perform root cause analysis for significant incidents and establish preventive measures to minimize recurrence.
- Develop and update incident management policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Offer guidance and assistance to IT teams during incident response activities.
- Monitor incident trends and identify opportunities for process enhancement.
- Collaborate with other IT service management functions, such as problem and change management, to ensure alignment and synergy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in IT incident management or a comparable role within the IT sector.
- Thorough understanding of ITIL incident management processes and best practices.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, especially under pressure.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, adept at engaging stakeholders of all levels.
- Proficiency in incident management tools and systems.
- Preferred ITIL Foundation certification or higher.
- Familiarity with service management frameworks like ITIL or COBIT.
- Experience with IT service management software such as ServiceNow or Remedy is advantageous.
- Capability to thrive both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
