As an IT Help Desk Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for internal users seeking technical assistance. Your primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot issues, provide timely and accurate solutions, and escalate more complex problems to the appropriate teams. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centric approach.
Key Responsibilities
- First-Line Support Provide first-line support for IT-related issues, including hardware, software, network, and other technology-related problems.
- Issue Resolution Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, guiding users through step-by-step solutions or escalating issues to the appropriate IT teams.
- User Training Assist in providing basic user training on various systems and applications.
- Documentation Maintain accurate records of all help desk interactions and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Hardware and Software Setup Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware.
- Security Awareness Promote and enforce IT security best practices among end-users.
- Collaboration Work closely with other IT teams to ensure efficient problem resolution and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
- Experience 2+ years of experience in a help desk or technical support role.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and Mac OS environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other common business applications.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts.
- Communication Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
