Role Title: IT Epic Grand Central Analyst (Open for US Citizens only)

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Duration: 6-month C2H

Preferred Location: Remote


Epic certification required; manager will accept Grand Central ADT, Orders, ClinDoc, Inpatient, Prelude; more for clinical/patient flow;


Role Description:

This role serves as a crucial link between the hospital's business service lines and the IT department. The IT Business Application Analyst is responsible for independently providing application configuration support to enhance departmental operational efficiencies and workflow needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support major enterprise applications and other assigned systems.
  • Collaborate with business units to design workflows that improve efficiency, address complex workflow issues, and incorporate quality initiatives.
  • Conduct needs assessments, design software solutions, implement applications, provide ongoing support, and generate reports.
  • Coordinate and participate in unit and integrated testing to ensure design objectives are met, including developing test scenarios and scripts.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of departmental business processes to identify and resolve moderately complex issues.
  • Maintain system security for assigned applications.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members and lead the development of end-user training materials, as well as participate in training efforts.
  • Lead the escalation of issues with appropriate internal resources and assist in policy and procedure development in collaboration with business units and IT management.
  • Independently manage components of application upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and support efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and support inbound/outbound interfaces as necessary.
  • Create reports and dashboards to support business needs and manage problem tickets.
  • Maintain high standards of system documentation and collaborate with other analysts to ensure seamless system integrations.
  • Perform on-call rotation duties as required.
  • Participate in change management activities to support successful system deployments and enhancements, utilizing appropriate change control procedures and standards.
  • Design and maintain analytical tools, including reports and dashboards, to support the customer base.
  • Gather data from business subject matter experts to facilitate the design of improved business workflows.


Requirements:

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience supporting healthcare applications is required.
  • Epic certification required; manager will accept someone that has Grand Central Epic cert.
  • Ability to work on call weekends every 4-6 weeks
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Notable client service, communication, presentation and relationship-building skills required.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.) required.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases is required.
  • Knowledge of LAN, DNS, and networking required.
  • Ability to work with servers and apply software upgrades required.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup procedures required.
  • Project management experience/skills preferred.
  • Business workflow redesign experience a plus.
  • Must have experience working with business or healthcare applications such as:

Inpatient systems, Hospital patient flow systems, Data Warehousing, SQL Server/SSIS, Enterprise Scanning and workflow management Applications, Bed Management Applications, and Finance Applications.


Education:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
