The Iron County School District is seeking IT Data Team Programmer II

Programmer Level II: Responsible for all data synchronization programs (between Data Sources and State Database, Data Sources and Apps, Data Sources and Reporting, and others).

  • Reviews operating systems and software frequently and making any adjustments necessary to keep them running as best possible
  • Writes code and implementing computer programs on multiple hosted and cloud systems
  • Builds and employees computer-assisted software engineering tools to automate coding functions that can run more efficiently with automated improvements
  • Performs and maintains the implementation of automated computer systems from start to finish
  • Uses code libraries to simplify the writing of code
  • Writes (programs) and installs updates for existing systems
  • Ability to find and fix any errors in programs, systems and software
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks and set priorities
  • Work with district webmasters, SIS coordinator, and onboarding specialist to automate data updates
  • Provide oversight and maintenance of apps directly connected to position (ex. Teacher and parent communications, School and district announcements/communications, Student safety such as Bark)
  • Willingness to work independently or with a team
  • Demonstrate analytical skills when creating computer code
  • Attention to detail, but not to an extreme where production and quality suffers over time and delays
  • Ensures a consistent-level of performance
  • Ability to find and fix any errors in programs, systems and software
  • Acknowledged ability to set and meet timelines;
  • Operates in a team-driven workplace
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion;
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English at a level required for successful job performance;
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence;
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the school district;
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out essential duties of this position;
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form;
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems involving concrete variables situations;
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be willing to work after hours during times of critical work and approaching deadlines.
