Summit Bodyworks is a premier builder of mobile display vehicles, mobile medical, law enforcement and other specialty vehicles. We are growing and looking for someone to lead and manage our materials and inventory functions. This is a hands on Inventory Manager role
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and perform purchasing functions, materials management, shipping & receiving, customer service related to parts sales and inventory control.
Manage and develop a team to ensure goals and objectives of the organization are met and that a safe work environment is provided for team members
Oversee and maintain levels including Kanban systems deliveries to support manufacturing requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.
Develop and maintain continuous improvement programs for new materials, suppliers ,and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, delivery and overall value.
Gather information to evaluate current work processes in order to determine the optimal flow of materials and information.
Develop strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of materials flows within the company.
Identify root causes of shortages and implement corrective actions.
Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
Excellent communication skills
Develop, implement and manage departmental procurement policies and procedures
Monitor supplier's performance
Develop, implement and manage departmental inventory control policies and procedures
Be proficient with supply chains software 1
Implement best practices in inventory accuracy
Attract, retains ,engage and effectively develop a professional inventory control staff
Develop and manage a succession plan for identifying and developing future leaders
Develop and manage an annual business plan with the relevant strategy and programs to meet department a financial goals and key performance indicators.
Other duties as assigned by the manager.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a key board, photo copier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
Ability to communicate by providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.
Ability to receive and analyze data and input into the computer.
Normal range of hearing and vision.
Activities require a full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
The position may require standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 80 pounds.
The position requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range. Requires the ability to work under stressful conditions or irregular hours.
