LHH is partnering with a growing food manufacturing company who is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Manager with a background in the food manufacturing industry to join their team. The Inventory Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all inventory-related activities, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory systems. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of food safety standards, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of inventory control, including receiving, storing, and distributing food products.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP systems.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Supply Chain Coordination:
  • Work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate supply of materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Compliance and Quality Control:
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA).
  • Monitor the shelf life of products and manage FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
  • Address and resolve any quality issues related to inventory.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and make informed decisions.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory status, turnover rates, and other key metrics.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
  • Team Leadership and Training:
  • Supervise and train inventory control staff.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance within the team.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Inventory Management (e.g., APICS CPIM).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated or frozen environment as needed.
  • Standing, walking, and moving for extended periods.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Occasional weekend or evening work may be required to meet production schedules.
