Inventory Control Specialist

Job Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist manages and maintains inventory records, monitors reorder points, and initiates stock replenishment. This role also involves reconciling inventory discrepancies and notifying the supervisor of any issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current inventory levels through regular cycle counts and accurate data entry.
• Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, and reconcile stock counts with system reports.
• Manage purchase orders: receive, track, investigate issues, and report discrepancies.
• Unpack, deliver, restock parts, conduct cycle counts, label shelves, and process returns.
• Monitor outgoing merchandise for accuracy and proper packaging, including handling fragile items and standardizing packaging methods.
• Print and cross-check daily sales order receipts, prepare shipping labels, assemble boxes, affix postage, and track inventory during picking.
• Process orders using various shipping systems (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL) and schedule shipments with carriers.
• Communicate with the Mexico branch as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (higher education may substitute for experience).
• Two or more years of related experience.
• Knowledge of inventory control and order processing.
• Ability to reconcile stock counts with reports.
• Strong database management and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in routine administrative tasks.
• Capability to handle receiving, stocking, and delivery of goods.
• Strong clerical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Consistent work schedule adherence.
• Familiarity with office equipment (phones, fax, copier, computer, printer, scanner).
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Google Suite, MS Office, Mi-Mode, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Intranet.
