Job Purpose
The Inventory Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the inventory processes and procedures at a contractor site. The role involves handling a large-volume, small-part inventory, ensuring accuracy, organization, and efficient workflow. The specialist will maintain inventory for materials used in running WIFI cables and burying fiber, ensuring that all items are correctly labeled and placed. This position requires a continuous improvement mindset to optimize inventory management practices.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Inventory Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the inventory processes and procedures at a contractor site. The role involves handling a large-volume, small-part inventory, ensuring accuracy, organization, and efficient workflow. The specialist will maintain inventory for materials used in running WIFI cables and burying fiber, ensuring that all items are correctly labeled and placed. This position requires a continuous improvement mindset to optimize inventory management practices.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Verify stock information and unit identification numbers.
- Conduct inventory and audits of equipment and parts.
- Unpackage, sort, and stage units for production.
- Receive units using RF handheld devices.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Perform cycle counts and audits in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Label inventory and ensure proper placement on the contractor site.
- Collaborate with contractors to manage the inventory of materials such as splitters, construction materials, vaults, and markers.
- Stand and work outdoors for extended periods.
- Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Ability to prioritize workflow effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility in schedule to meet operational needs.
- Basic computer and Excel skills are a plus.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Specialist or similar role.
- Familiarity with RF handheld devices and inventory software.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed inventory records.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods outdoors.
