Summary:

This role is responsible for synchronizing Supply and Demand by planning and managing the physical flow of materials through the manufacturing and distribution network. This includes, not limited to, analyzing and validating demand requirements, purchasing raw materials, planning, and monitoring of production schedule, and optimizing inventory levels while maintaining the desired customer service level. This role interacts with internal business partners such as sales, purchasing, and manufacturing as well as an external supplier network.

An effective Inventory Control Planner is critical to our company’s success. The Inventory Control Planner is responsible for optimizing inventory levels to appropriately meet customer demands. Two ways this is measured at Signature are: perfect order performance (orders that are on-time, complete, damage free, and accurate) and inventory turnover.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and validate demand requirements of assigned products
  • Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs
  • Manage and maintain planning parameters of assigned products to align with service and inventory targets
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure on-time deliveries and quality standards are met.
  • Participate in product life cycle planning with Sales, Engineering, Marketing and Product Development
  • Issue purchase orders and manage communication with suppliers
  • Participate in supply chain improvement projects and initiatives to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Plan and schedule production orders
  • Identify and address inventory discrepancies and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Inventory cycle count and reconciliation
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and report on supply chain and procurement performance.
  • Ad-hoc request


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field required
  • Supply Planning and Demand Planning experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • APICS CPIM certification a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • The ideal candidate should possess knowledge of Supply Chain Management and SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) as well as experience in MRP and MPS in an ERP system.
  • ERP experience required (i.e. SAP, Oracle, JDE etc…) preferred; experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma qualification a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the demands and requirements of a fast-paced environment and changes in priorities
  • Detail-oriented and resourceful
