Job Description

Job Summary

Inventory Control is responsible for maintaining integrity of inventory by ensuring records are current in the system, reporting inventory discrepancies, performing daily cycle counts, and contributing to improved work processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monitoring inventory turns
  • Ensure inventory records are maintained within the ERP system
  • Maintain integrity of parts room, warehouse, and related secured areas
  • Ensure the timely input or removal of all parts from tracking system
  • Document and communicate all material issues to supervisor (i.e., discrepancies, damaged items, shortages, broken items, unidentified packages, etc.)
  • Assist in the disposition of surplus inventory
  • Understand the warehouse layout, how to locate materials, and relocate material when needed
  • Collaborate with work team to develop improved processes
  • Practice good housekeeping in assigned areas and properly disposes of waste according to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies
  • Help with customers as needed
  • Ensure the accuracy of material requests and completion of required system processes
  • Perform daily cycle and annual physical inventory counts when needed
  • Safely operate material handling equipment (i.e., hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, delivery vehicles, etc.)
  • Assist with Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and core returns to suppliers
  • Seek technical or supervisor expertise to resolve quality related issues
  • Maintain compliance with HSE policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an inventory or warehousing role
  • A high school diploma or educational equivalency certificate required
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Maintain a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Must be a team player who can work well with others to improve work processes
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be willing to work all shifts assigned with overtime as needed
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and talk or hear
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, minimal noise, and vibration
