Inventory Control Analyst

Inventory Control Analyst Purpose:

The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for the development and administration of the strategic inventory program. This includes the design and management of the inventory program, maintaining optimal inventory replenishment levels that delight customers and achieve business sales and profitability goals, and ensuring timely material procurement. Additionally, the Inventory Control Analyst will have responsibility for the quality of the master part data in our business system and manage inventory data that inputs to digital platforms such as iNET or the eStore. This position will support Inside Sales, Business Unit Leaders, Warehouse Managers, and the CFO to implement inventory management processes that maximize margin and improve customer order responsiveness.

Inventory Control Analyst Responsibilities:

Inventory Program Design and Management

  • Program Design - Design and administer an effective and consistent inventory management program that maximizes the value to the business
  • Program Management - Maintain an inventory strategy that aligns with the overall strategy of the business
  • Program Measurables - Develop the measurables for success and monitor the quality of the inventory on an ongoing basis

Inventory Planning and Replenishment

  • Demand Planning – collaborate with the Sales team and Business Unit leaders to define customer demands and develop inventory purchasing strategies that optimize volume discounting with vendors and meet or exceed business unit sales and margin projections.
  • Replenishment – track and analyze inventory stocking levels to achieve Business Unit inventory turn goals and adjust accordingly to ensure positive ROI for company’s inventory investments.
  • Inventory Health – track and identify slow moving and obsolete stock, and work with Business Unit leaders to develop initiatives to effectively sell aging inventory.

Material Procurement

  • Oversee buyer duties, including inventory purchase order execution, delivery confirmation, and delivery tracking.
  • Work with Sales and Operational teams by taking advantage of the best available discounts for both fast moving stock and demand inventory items.
  • Document and maintain current vendor stock pricing and special deals.
  • Provide procurement and inventory management support for large projects and outages.
  • Develop and maintain stock procurement procedures as needed

Additional Responsibilities

  • Generate, analyze and report on key inventory and procurement metrics to internal stakeholders.
  • Establish master part data standards and oversee the quality of master part data in the business system
  • Maintain current part list prices and manufacturer’s part number information in the business system
  • Support the quality and accessibility of inventory data as it relates to iNET, eStore, and other digital platforms
  • Assist the warehouse team with processing customer returns per the company’s RMA procedure.
  • Work closely with Accounting to review inventory transactions and reconcile/adjust inventory valuation in the business system.
  • Support the leadership team with special projects related to procurement and inventory management. Perform other related duties as needed and assigned.

Inventory Control Analyst Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and 2+ years of inventory analyst experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Procurement experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to collect, organize and disseminate large amounts of information, interpret data, and provide recommendations.
  • Possesses solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative to accomplish tasks to completion
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Highly effective at collaborating with others and leading teams
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Exhibits curiosity and willingness to perform broader analysis beyond the numbers
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel. Familiar with Tier 2 ERP systems.

Inventory Control Analyst Working Conditions:

Includes working primarily in an office setting, with occasional assignments outside the office. This position may require some travel.

This role resides at our corporate headquarters in Englewood, CO.

Inventory Control Analyst Compensation:

Base Wage Range: $65,000 to $80,000 Prior work or industry experience as well as job-related education and unique skills will be taken into consideration when setting the wage rate.

Other Variable Compensation: Eligible for an annual profit share award based on company performance.
