Faegre Drinker has an opportunity for an International Trade Analyst to work within our Government & Regulatory Affairs Practice Group in our Washington, D.C. office. You will be part of our dynamic Customs & International Trade Team and will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for doing great work in the best interest of our clients.


What you would do:

  • Prepare detailed sales, cost of production and subsidy responses for Antidumping (AD) and Countervailing Duties (CVD) cases for submission to Enforcement & Compliance (E&C) as well as perform cost and sales reconciliations for AD and CVD investigations and administrative reviews.
  • Work with the Accounting and IT teams at companies to gather and report the required sales and cost information and outside IT consultants to model AD and CVD calculations and work with legal professionals to implement strategies to minimize duties owed.
  • For CVD subsidy cases, collect relevant information on subsidy programs and prepare allocations typically based on the average useful life of the assets that the subsidies benefit and prepare CVD analysis of grant, loan and other CVD programs.
  • Assist companies in implementing systems to model and minimize AD and CVD duties throughout the life of an AD and/or CVD order.
  • Assist clients with proper AD and CVD rates for individual exporters as well as scope issues involving AD and CVD investigations and reviews.
  • Monitor Section 232 and Section 301 developments and file exclusion requests, objections, and rebuttals as needed with respect to Section 232 and Section 301 tariff actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The anticipated initial hourly rate for someone who is hired into this position is $43.50– $48.75/hour based on a 37.5 hour a week schedule.

Actual initial hourly rate may be above or below the above-identified range and will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location where the position is filled, in all cases consistent with applicable law. This is a non-exempt role paid on an hourly basis. The initial hourly rate listed above is just one component of Faegre Drinker's total compensation and benefits package for professional staff, which includes, but is not limited to, a discretionary bonus; life, health, accident, and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.


What is required:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Trade Analyst with E&C at the Department of Commerce, law firm or consulting firm.
  • Experience with E&C verifications while either at E&C, a law firm or a consulting firm.
  • Familiarity with filing requirements of questionnaire responses at E&C.
  • Must be highly analytical and organized.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel and ACCESS) with knowledge of SAS programming used by E&C to calculate AD margins.
  • Must be willing to travel overseas.
