International Business Analyst, Finance

Houston/Toronto based role with remote work options

Ability to commit to travel between home location and business activity areas up to 50% of the year.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role provides hands-on experience for IBA in the areas of Strategy, Planning, Analysis, Investor Relations and M&A.

DUTIES:

Strategy, Planning, Project Management and Analysis

 Reporting directly to CFO as a member of senior management team working to clearly define the Company’s strategic objectives/initiatives and to plan, manage and carry out a course of action to achieve these objectives. Document and prepare Business Plans and decision support documents aligned with strategic objectives.

 Review and update quarterly and annual internal Management reporting packages, with a focus on Financial Analysis

 Market research, data collection and analysis to support strategy and initiatives including manipulating data and data mining as well as translating complex data into user friendly reports, graphs, charts or models.

 Tracking and reporting strategic initiative execution and implementation against KPIs

 Work with stakeholders to form KPIs/Market Indicators based on forecasted business plans and monitor and report on those KPIs/Market Indicators routinely While reporting to Management on progress, issues and solutions that could impact financial strategy.

 Support planning and analysis activities by leading the development of detailed evaluations of projects.

Financial

 Support the valuation process for identifying potential strategic transactions, including building Excel-based valuation models that consider business-specific earnings and cash flow projections, accretion/dilution, capital considerations and other transaction metrics.

 Lead governance processes end-to end assessing opportunities for better alignment and focus across the business.

 Develop and maintain financial tools to evaluate the company's internal financial and operational performance.

 Leads strategic planning support and performs feasibility studies, workload efficiency analyses, using formal data gathering techniques and analyzing, designing and implementing appropriate information systems. This includes identifying system deficiencies, user department operational inefficiencies, and ways of improving business efficiency functions.

 Provide analytical and project management support throughout the transaction process from due diligence to portfolio integration.

 Develops evaluation processes and tools and evaluates vendor responses in conjunction with senior staff or managers, participates in contract negotiations with vendors.

Corporate

 CFO objectives, CFO presentations/updates

 Strategy/SPBP/Board//Quarterlies presentation support

 Quarterly MD&A, Press Release and Financial Statement support

 Market research & analysis including peer disclosures and analytics

 Investors Relations analysis of top investors and peers

 Review analyst reports and consolidate estimates and key messages

 Work on presentation materials for Earnings Release including investor presentations, earning script and Board Materials

 Working with segment management to analyze and optimize working capital

 Identify and analyze business risks related to international business activities

REQUIREMENTS:

 Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or another related field.

 MBA designation is preferred.

 Minimum 5 Years Directly Related Work Experience

 Recognized as a business advisor and partner in collaborating with and supporting all departments in an organization to attain their specific business objectives, with a focus on Finance

 Ability to navigate ambiguity, apply systems and processes and simplify complex situations.

 Proactive approach to process and system improvements with demonstrated positive results.

 Experience with strategic planning, valuations, and economics, developing profitable strategies and maturing processes.

 Strong understanding of performance management and corporate finance principles.

 Excellent project management skills gained through 3-5 years of managing analytical projects

 Strong hands-on proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite, especially Excel.

 Requires a high level of cultural sensitivity, interactive communication, negotiation, and effective collaboration. This necessitates considerable tact, discretion, and persuasion to obtain desired outcomes while maintaining ongoing professional relationships.

 Experience in managing global cross-functional teams and project-management.

 Ability to establish credibility with both internal (good networker) and external stakeholders.

 Flexibility in work style to foster teamwork in a hybrid work environment
