IPS – Swift Textile Metalizing (STM) is seeking an Intern, Mechanical Design Engineering. This is an undergraduate student or recent graduate who will learn the inner workings of an engineering oriented company that focuses on innovation in the Aerospace industry. STM specializes in the production of electrically conductive materials and textiles that services Aerospace, Defense (e.g. Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman), Medical, Telecommunications and many other industries .

Job Accountabilities
The selected intern will work side-by-side with other design engineers and engineering managers with data management of drawings, 3D/2D models, specification, etc. including the following:
Documentation / Specs Research: Create, review, interpretate, and maintain project documentation and technical specifications
Configuration Control Board (CCB) & Engineering Requests (ER): assist the design team in collecting necessary data to conclude a CCB & ER process
Learn about PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and how to handle Document Configuration Control.
Assist with establishing and documenting Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
Assist with creating and revising work instructions and equipment checklists
Perform other duties and projects as assigned or requested
Job Specifications
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma/GED and one two years of schooling pursuing an advanced degree in aerospace, mechanical or structural engineering
Years’ Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Skills
Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
Experience with solid modeling software
Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to drive tasks to completion
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
The summer intern session will be for this semester 12 weeks June-August (~20 hours per week)
