What You Get To Do
As a Marketing Intern, you will work with on various marketing projects, and serve as a critical team member within a passionate and hard-working marketing team. Specifically, you will work with various marketing disciplines, including promotions, public relations, consumer and corporate event planning and execution, tourism sales, digital and social media, advertising, and loyalty, marketing law and finance. Each intern will spend 2-3 weeks in each discipline and work on a dedicated project within that discipline.
Promotions and Sponsorships
Research local partnership opportunities with retail, restaurant and like-minded partners
Create a sponsorship pitch and participate in pitch meetings
Assist Manager of Promotions in negotiating and building local added-value promotions
Work closely with outside agencies and internal stakeholders across multiple disciplines to ensure communications and promotions are aligned with marketing objectives.
Consumer events:
Development and analysis of operating calendar and planning for upcoming year calendar
Assist in the development and execution of park signage and communications including pricing, pass promotions, event signage, menu boards, cart theming graphics, and park maps
Work with the Manger of Integrated Marketing to track and account for all spend related to creative and production
Advertising
Analyze local marketing opportunities (transportation, beach, sidewalk kiosks, hotel TV, etc.) to determine the best tactics for local programming
Loyalty
Work alongside the Manager of Loyalty, analyze pass member program and create competitive analysis examine other theme parks, museums, etc. to compare products. Make recommendations to improve BGTs programs
Plan a pass member event and assist in creating the member rewards
Event Sales and Service
Assist Manager of Event Sales in creating target list, create sales materials, and management of on-site event
Digital and Social Media
Maintain up-to-date and accurate park overviews on external website including Tourism Partners, third-party review sites, and online travel sites on a seasonal basis.
Assist with social media, public relations, branding/advertising; work on digital & interactive projects as assigned
Public Relations
Assist with developing and executing communication plans to support media relations and influencer engagement, including writing and distributing press materials, and arranging media visits. (VT/PR)
Assist with escorting media in-park and brainstorming social media objectives while supporting the organization
What It Takes To Succeed
Ability to commit 20 hours/week for a 6 month time period
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to interact effectively with ambassadors in various levels of management
Enthusiastic, confident performer and team player with the ability and passion to work in a demanding and fast paced environment
Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office Programs with high aptitude for other computer software systems
Ability to work independently and have flexibility to work successfully in a team environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, weekdays, and holidays
Willingness to comply with all company policies and procedures
Driver's license and ability to work off site at local activations
Education And Experience
Candidate must hold a High School diploma or equivalent
Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in a Marketing, Social Media, or Communications field preferred
Experience and/or strong interest in hospitality and/or tourism industry preferred
