Intern, Biotech Strategy and Operations
Who We Are
Vial is a hyper-scalable biotech company advancing programs into the clinic by leveraging dramatically cheaper trials and computationally designed therapeutics.
Our mission is to reimagine drug development in order to cure all human diseases. We have assembled a talented team of clinical operators, chemists, and innovative thinkers to achieve this vision.
Vial is based in San Francisco, California, and was founded by Simon Burns in October 2020. Since our founding, we have grown rapidly to a team of 100+ employees with over $100 million in funding from leading investors including General Catalyst, Box Group, and Byers Capital.
Vial is rebuilding the infrastructure to advance research. By deploying technology at every step, we are creating a more efficient future for drug discovery.
What You'll Do
We are looking for a Strategy and Operations Intern for a 4-month internship. In this role, you will gain exposure to various projects at Vial, including those focused on setting and executing firm-level strategy. You will report directly to the Office of the COO, engage closely with the executive team, and have significant autonomy in leading projects.
Key Responsibilities
Innate Curiosity
We found our calling in clinical trials by directly learning about the pain points. Our curiosity propels us to keep building, finding new challenges, and fulfilling our vision of reimagining clinical trials.
Autonomy
We believe that team members do their best work when given autonomy. To make an impact on the scale of Vial’s vision, we’ve built a culture that enables each team member to feel ownership of their domain.
Craftsmanship
We take pride in building mastery in our craft. Craftsmanship and pride in one’s work are key to prolonged engagement with difficult challenges. Vial’s culture is one of highly autonomous, deeply focused experts working together on immensely hard problems.
Agility and Humility
Our strength lies in moving fast while staying humble. We believe that by building a team that is intellectually honest, nimble, and open-minded, we’ll adapt and solve problems at every turn.
