Interior Design Assistant

INTERIOR DESIGN ASSISTANT

Theory Design is the fastest growing luxury design firm in SW Florida. We are dedicated to excellence in interior design in both new construction and renovations for residential and commercial clients.

With a portfolio of concept-to-completion projects, the team is inspired by nature and organic elements as well as modern but timeless, holistic design. Our goal is to engage with clients and infuse their character and personality into award-winning interiors.

We are looking to add superior talent to our growing team. As a Design Assistant, you will be working closely with the design team to implement project designs in collaboration with the VP of Design and Senior Designers. This role assists in all aspects of the design process from sourcing FF&E, developing schedules, processing work orders, developing client presentations, working in AutoCAD and other administrative responsibilities.

  • Assist Vice President of Design
  • Organize multiple projects including information flow, communication, documents, samples
  • Prepare and update finish schedules and various design presentations
  • Develop and prepare for client presentations
  • Research and sourcing furnishings and interior finishes
  • Assist with furniture ordering and payment, follow-up on lead times, coordinate deliveries and installations
  • Enter and maintain project budgets
  • Assist with client billing and VP of Design billable hours
  • Create customer proposals
  • Assist with furniture installations and interior photo shoots
  • Interact with clients
  • Pick up samples and miscellaneous items
  • Assist Associate and Lead Designers with various design and administrative tasks related to all phases of high-end interior design from initial planning through to project completion

Requirements

  • Degree in Interior Design
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience within an Interior Design internship or assistant level role
  • Resourceful and Self-starting
  • Positive attitude with eagerness to grow both professionally and personally
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the overall design process
  • Highly productive and organized with thorough attention to detail
  • Multitasking extraordinaire
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Design Manager software knowledge is a plus
