KDW Firm PLLC (formerly KDB) is a prestigious intellectual property law firm seeking an IP Patent Paralegal to join our team. Delivering strategic IP business counsel, KDW practices the full spectrum of IP-related services across numerous and varied technologies. While we have offices in Cary, NC, we also have staff all over the nation who have mastered remote working. KDW has strong virtual capabilities which allows our people to be the best for our clients, whether it is "in-person" or "from a distance". 


Our Paralegals work closely with our patent prosecution attorneys to support our growing portfolio of domestic and foreign patents. The ideal candidate will have 3- years of relevant PATENT experience, with a strong background in both domestic and foreign patent applications. 


Responsibilities:

·       Assist attorneys with all aspects of patent prosecution, including preparation and filing of domestic and foreign patent applications, formalities, responses to pre-examination notices and amendments.

·       Manage patent docket including monitoring deadlines, timely reminders, and communicating updates to the appropriate parties.

·       Assist with portfolio management, including maintaining accurate records and updating client databases.

·       Interface with the United States Patent and Trademark office (USPTO), foreign associates and internal and external clients.

·       Coordinate with attorneys, inventors, and clients to gather pertinent information and documents.

·       Collaborate with attorneys, clients, supervisors. and colleagues to analyze problems and develop solutions.

·       Maintain current knowledge of patent laws and procedures.


Requirements:

·       Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

·       3-7 years of experience as an Intellectual Property Paralegal, with a focus on PATENT prosecution.

·       Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills.

·       Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
