Insurance Verification Representative
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in medical or dental office settings and possess strong knowledge of insurance verification processes, medical coding, and HIPAA regulations.
Duties:
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations and verify claim status
- Review and update patient insurance information in the electronic health record system
- Ensure accurate coding of medical procedures using ICD-10 codes
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information
- Collaborate with medical billing team to resolve insurance-related issues
- Assist in maintaining accurate medical records and documentation
-Experience with practice management software: GE Centricity, EPIC PB, Cerner, Allscripts preferred
-Knowledge of individual payor websites, including eviCore, Navinet and Novitasphere
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying insurance information
