The Claims Analyst is responsible for management of claims, litigation and other legal issues involving clients of
Thaxton & Associates.
Duties & Essential Job Functions
Analyze all claims and litigation involving our clients and develop recommended options and action plan(s).
Facilitate the retrieval, investigation and management of internal information, documentation and personnel necessary to meet needs.
Report to Management, producers, and senior account analysts the status of cases/assignments.
Contact with outside counsel to facilitate legal handling of client litigation.
Work with Thaxton management to provide direction to outside counsel in the handling of client litigation.
Direct and facilitate support staff in the receipt and reporting of all claims. This position is the primary contact for insurance reporting of potential and actual claims.
Respond to client and carrier related claim requests.
Provide legal assistance to corporate projects as requested.
Perform legal research upon request.
Perform other duties as assigned.
It is an essential function of this job that you arrive at your designated office location on time, and ready to work your scheduled hours.
Research, analyze and prepare presentations relating to regulatory, legislative and litigation developments impact clients and/or carriers.
Preferred Qualifications/Knowledge
Understanding of general litigation procedures.
Familiarity with issues related to commercial and personal insurance, such as policy reporting and statutory requirements.
Understanding of broker, third party administration, consultant roles and responsibilities.
Understanding of liability contract language and legal terms.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
Excellent oral communication and writing skills.
Self-motivated, independent and able to handle time sensitive projects.
Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to Commercial, Personal, and Self- insurance preferred.
Prefer at least 3 years of relevant legal and/or claims experience
