We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team in providing trauma-informed counseling services. Under direct supervision, our team members play a vital role in ensuring the physical and emotional safety of our participants while delivering effective counseling strategies.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for facilitating group and education sessions, managing client caseloads, and implementing trauma-informed counseling strategies. Your dedication to maintaining clear boundaries and roles within the counseling relationship will be essential. Additionally, you will collaborate with our clinical team to ensure that clients receive appropriate support beyond the scope of our services.
Responsibilities
Individual, Group, and Education Counseling (90%)
Conduct group and education sessions and client interviews in alignment with philosophy and regulatory guidelines.
Manage client caseloads and monitor progress in accordance with program regulations.
Implement trauma-informed counseling strategies, including grounding techniques, cognitive behavior tools, and stress management methods.
Facilitate collaborative treatment and recovery planning, prioritizing client goals and personal choice.
Identify client strengths, coping resources, and resilience while ensuring their physical and emotional safety.
Other Duties and Responsibilities (10%)
Attend monthly meetings and provide case management services as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification by an AOD organization or in good standing as an Associate/Intern through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Two years of experience providing counseling services in alcohol and/or mental health fields.
Additional Applicant Information
Candidates must reside in California and be available to report to the worksite as required.
