Title: Instructor, Occupational Therapy – 9/10 Month (Term)

Position Summary

This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.

Essential Job Functions/Job Duties And Responsibilities

Teach occupational therapy courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Plan, evaluate and revise curricula, course content, and course materials. Provide classroom and clinical instruction for Occupational Therapy Assistant students, assessing clinical education needs using a variety of best practice instructional methods. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences.

Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.

Set and honor scheduled office hours for student conferences. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as an academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and

Evidence of initial AOTCB or NBCOT certification

Hold current, or be eligible for, Tennessee licensure as an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant

Prior clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or as an Occupational Therapist who has worked with Occupational Therapy Assistants

Collegiate level teaching experience

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrate a high level of collegiality and professionalism.

Rate of Pay: $42,163 to $52,703 annually, depending on experience
