How You’ll Make An Impact
Aptima is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer to join its Orlando-based operations. The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team to use a generative AI tool in support of requirements development and the RRL Navy Training Process (NTP) Analysis. Experience with NAVEDTRA 130 and MIL-HDBK-29612 series documentation along with experience and/or certification in prompt engineering required.

How You’ll Make An Impact
Aptima is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer to join its Orlando-based operations. The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team to use a generative AI tool in support of requirements development and the RRL Navy Training Process (NTP) Analysis. Experience with NAVEDTRA 130 and MIL-HDBK-29612 series documentation along with experience and/or certification in prompt engineering required.
You Can Expect To
- Review Government Furnished Information (GFI) training products and existing legacy materials/artifacts to determine sufficiency and adequacy for use in creation of required NTP compliant output
- Document gaps in GFI that prevent the accurate creation of the required NTP workbook artifacts
- Research target rating and identify LLM prompts required to generate rating specific data in target Large Language Model (LLM)
- Review AI tool output to ensure compliance with NTP workbook requirements e.g., various training analyses, Instructional Media Requirement Document (IMRD)
- Review AI Tool output, e.g., analyses data, Instructional Media Requirement Document (IMRD), with SMEs to ensure technical accuracy
- Identify and work with SMEs to revise AI Tool output to enhance and improve training artifact accuracy and completeness
- Support and respond to Quality Assurance specialists during product reviews
- Develop reports and briefings in support of the training artifact generation process
- Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
- Minimum of Bachelors degree with at least three years’ experience creating and reviewing NAVEDTRA 130 and MIL-HDBK-29612 related training products. Relevant experience may be a substitute for degree
- Experience in the analysis phase (i.e., RRL requirements definition)
- Minimum six months experience and/or certification in prompt engineering
- Experience with developing / reviewing RRL NTP compliant training artifacts
- Demonstrated attention to detail reviewing system output to ensure requirements compliance
- Work with SMEs to gather the salient technical information on task performance data for US Navy ratings
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a production environment developing contract deliverables. (e.g., software engineers)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Masters degree in Instructional Design and Technology or related field.
- Recent experience (last three years) on an RRL Requirements Documentation contract
