LifeSafety Management is seeking an Inspection Manager of fire alarm and water-based fire protection systems. This position is responsible for overseeing all fire alarm and fire sprinkler inspection and testing. The position will interact daily with field personnel, office-based personnel, customers, other internal departments, and authorities having jurisdiction to ensure inspection and testing is performed timely, properly, and compliant with all applicable codes and standards. This position will report directly to the branch leader.
Job Duties
Identify any new customer inspection and testing to be performed and successfully schedule customer’s first time inspection within 1 week of customer onboarding.
Analyze current inspection and testing backlog to determine number of man hours needed to complete inspections to ensure minimum 90% on schedule success rate. Identify man power over or under utilization.
Analyze all KEY accounts and schedule or document the scheduling of 100% of these accounts.
Work with field staff to successfully complete inspection and testing and complete required digital forms.
Ensure all forms are successfully transmitted by field staff and relevant inspection and testing calls are reviewed and closed within 3 days of the completion of the inspection and test.
Ensure timely submittal of documentation to authority having jurisdiction or third party compliance systems (such as Compliance Engine) immediately upon inspection and test completion.
Identify and track inspector career and skill growth.
Ensure all regulatory certifications are maintained by field staff as needed.
Review completed inspection and testing calls to determine if hours sold vs hours performed is favorable or identify cause for overage.
Routinely perform field site visits.
Respond promptly to customer requests.
Perform and/or assist with inspections as needed.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years experience in the fire protection industry is required
Minimum 3 years of Inspection and Testing experience of fire alarm and/or water-based fire protection systems.
NICET certification in Fire Alarm Inspections and/or Water-Based Fire Protection Systems is preferred.
Strong Knowledge of Inspection and Testing in NFPA 72 and NFPA 25 required.
Able to operate independently with minimal direct supervision
Must build positive working relationships with multiple levels of employee and management across departments.
Demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Must prioritize in a fast-paced multi-task environment.
Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
