Inpatient Medical Coder - Remote | WFH

Job Summary

As a Certified Inpatient Medical Coder, your role at our organization will involve accurately assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to inpatient medical records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Review and analyze inpatient medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures.

Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes accurately to reflect clinical documentation.

Maintain data integrity and accuracy throughout the coding process.

Stay updated with evolving coding guidelines and industry best practices through continuous education.

Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and gather necessary information.

Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives to uphold coding accuracy standards.

Meet productivity and quality benchmarks while adhering to established coding standards.

Uphold strict patient confidentiality and privacy standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

AHIMA credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P) or AAPC credentials (CPC, COC, CIC).

Minimum 1 Year Of Experience In Facility Inpatient Coding.

Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and PCS coding systems.

Experience with coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Organizational and time management abilities to meet coding deadlines.
