Expand your technical and professional skills in a real-world setting. Copeland co-ops are given meaningful work, support, and mentorship from experienced managers and key business leaders. There is the potential to gain knowledge and experience in a variety of ways by exploring opportunities associated with your major and rotating through multiple departments.

Based in our Dayton, OH location at our Helix Innovation Center, you will work closely with a project lead and team throughout the semester. The solutions that we build will impact the world in decades, not months, so bring your world-changing, out-of-the ordinary ideas!

As An Innovation Research & Design Co-op, You Will

  • Quickly build an understanding of projects across customer, business & technology dimensions
  • Do Research & Design work to discover needs of customers, turn them into insights that will influence design of a solution’s technology & business model
  • Build solutions that deliver value to Copeland customers that solve their burning problems
  • Design & run research plans and experiments to evaluate the strength of an innovation opportunity
  • Design & run workshops for interdisciplinary teams to drive important project conversations
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, technicians, subject matter experts and business leaders
  • Present your cool ideas to the team!

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or related field
  • Ability to work potentially 40 hours per week during the scheduled semester
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills

  • Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, Social Sciences, or Business Administration
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Sophomore or higher class status
  • Experience doing business development work
  • Experience working & brainstorming in interdisciplinary teams
  • Confidence managing and building your own To-do list from complex project requirements
  • Confidence writing and communicating – high attention to detail
  • Comfort in both leadership and followership roles
  • Enjoys learning fast and has fun exploring BIG questions
