IT Network Administrator / Warwick, RI / Hybrid / 75-85k
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Network Administrator with at least 5 years of experience in managing enterprise-level network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks. You will also be the main point of contact for network-related issues and ensure our network systems run efficiently and securely.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Management:
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS).
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
Support:
- Provide Level 2 and 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve network issues.
- Collaborate with other IT personnel to resolve network problems.
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate network documentation and create reports on network status and activity.
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Develop and maintain network configuration protocols.
Project Management:
- Plan and execute network infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with vendors and third parties to ensure smooth implementation of projects.
- Stay current with new technology and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Administrator in an enterprise environment.
- Extensive experience with network administration, including LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, and network security.
- In-depth knowledge of networking technologies and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).
- Hands-on experience with network hardware and software (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).
- Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and other network security appliances.
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
