IT Business Analyst (Fully Remote - DC Metro Area)

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our growing team in a fully remote position. As a key member of the IT department, you will serve as a force multiplier, supporting your colleagues, coordinating efforts, and driving projects forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Analysis:
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for IT projects.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including Statements of Work (SOWs), use cases, and user stories.
  • Identify and document potential risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to ensure project alignment.
  • Champion effective project management practices and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Prepare clear and concise presentations and reports to communicate project progress and findings to stakeholders.
  • Serve as a point of contact for business users, providing ongoing support and clarification.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline IT processes and workflows.
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve IT efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Continuously monitor and measure project performance and recommend adjustments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems development lifecycles (SDLC).
  • Experience with business process modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana) a plus.
