Position Overview


The USDN Information & Impact Administrator plays a key role in supporting the Information & Impact Team and ensuring the success of USDN’s operations and information systems. The position works collaboratively with staff across the organization through the administration and rollout of technology systems, the development and refinement of data processes, and the coordination of key projects that enable USDN’s programs and measure its impact. Cross-departmental functions supported by this role include grant reporting, programs operations, communications, and knowledge management. The Information & Impact Administrator reports to the Senior Director of Information & Impact and supports efforts across the team, working closely with both the Business Analyst and Data, Research & Evaluation Manager.


Core Responsibilities


Information Systems Support (35%):


  • Screen and respond to support requests in Salesforce
  • Perform simple data entry tasks and assist in running basic reports in Salesforce
  • Help with USDN website (and eventually Salesforce) administration
  • Perform QC testing for new Salesforce builds
  • Learn and apply Salesforce administration best practices


Knowledge and Data Management (25%)


  • Maintain and improve knowledge base, documenting processes and procedures and responding to user feedback
  • Create visuals to be used in systems, processes, and concepts documentation
  • Assist with organizing and cleaning data
  • Assist with copy editing and formatting communications documents and presentations with USDN branding, including light design work


Project Management Support (15%)


  • Help keep track of department project timelines and tasks
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders
  • Take notes and monitor technology project calendars
  • Assist technology and operations staff in managing and improving data hygiene


Systems Administration (Zoom, Slack, Google, Monday, etc.) (15%)

  • Stay on top of updates for and feature sets of org-wide key collaboration tools
  • Provision new users and manage permissions
  • Assist in communicating changes to stakeholders
  • Help build and maintain systems for standardization of administrative processes
  • Pay, code, and track vendor invoices


Support Team Members (10%)

  • Assist members of the I&I team in project management e.g., facilitation, note taking, calendar mgmt
  • Other tasks as assigned


Qualifications: While no single candidate will embody all the qualifications below, an ideal candidate would possess many of the below experiences and skill sets. 


Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, statistics, etc. or equivalent experience in technology management, project management, and/or nonprofit programs.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in technology, data, or administration-focused role, preferably in a nonprofit or member services organization.   
  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience in sustainability or local government work.  
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Skilled in computer technologies, including CRM or database platforms (basic Salesforce administration skills a huge plus), project management tools (e.g., Monday.com), and data analysis tools.
  • Experience in Google Workspace and Zoom administration is a huge plus.

Terms of Employment: This is a full-time, regular, non-exempt position that reports to USDN Senior Director of Information and Impact. The compensation range for this position is expected to be between $60,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications. USDN offers a robust benefits package, including 100% employer covered health, dental, disability, and life insurance, flexible leave policy, generous paid leave, and 401(k) program. Location: This is a fully remote, work-from-home position. USDN has no central office but staff collaborate extensively via video call meetings and through periodic in-person convenings. Employees must furnish their own quiet office space for conference calls. USDN provides an IT stipend to cover internet and phone use, computer, software, and other home office supplies. Work hours: 9am-5pm Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific Standard Times (flexible); 40 hours/week.
