Maintenance Technician I responsibilities are primarily preventive maintenance focused, with additional diagnostic, repair and project duties as assigned.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks, as scheduled in maintenance management system and assigned by manager, to prevent machine downtime and maximize housekeeping
Use judgment and job knowledge to assist with refining of preventive maintenance task list and schedule
Support manufacturing operations by responding to maintenance calls and completing repairs
Troubleshoot equipment in a timely manner, using sound judgment to request assistance for more complex tasks
Learn and support equipment updates and adjustments
Understand and maintain/adjust basic drive train and power train components
Start up and shut down equipment per established procedures and schedules
Enter all work completed in computer-based maintenance program
Monitor and report equipment parts usage and inventory to prevent out-of-stock incidents
, Qualifications
8 years or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Very good attendance history
Minimum 0-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to become certified in operation of various powered industrial lift vehicles.
Basic knowledge of equipment troubleshooting and repairs
Basic understanding of electrical safety
Basic understanding of electrical principles such as voltage, current and resistance
Ability to understand machine electrical circuitry and effectively use electrical diagnostic tools
Basic knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems
Basic software knowledge such as MS Word
Ability to express verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated judgment and problem-solving skills
Ability to accurately follow instructions from more senior level technicians and supervision
Ability to perform basic metal fabrication and welding
Knowledge of proper Lock-Out Tag-Out, Confined Space and machine guarding. procedures
Able to work flexible shifts and some weekends
